Operation Get Licence: Mission Accomplished!

YES.

Don't think three letters have ever been sweeter, well maybe when I popped the big question but there you have it. Now I'm just another crazy driver they have allowed be put behind a wheel.

When the phone started ringing, I was sick to my stomach and could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins.

"Hello," I meekly said.

"Yes," Dudu replied.

"You mean I passed?" I couldn't believe it; that this ordeal would somehow now be over?

"Yes you passed. Shabbat Shalom," and then he hung up.

Told Mrs Co.Il the good news and now I'm in need of a stiff drink.

I'm still shaking and still too tightly wound to enjoy the moment but will celebrate later tonight. All I have to do know is go pick up the form and then pay NIS 371 for my licence. The final cost comes to 1076 which is only as small as it is because I took just two lessons. Would hate to know how much the people who have 28 lessons spend on this whole thing.

Final Costs:
2 x 40 minute lesson: 200
Eyetest : 15
Test: 457
Cab after test: 33
Licence: 371
Total: NIS 1076

How cheap! It cost me several over 1000 euros!
Congratpragmaticias on getting it, I heard they're quite strict in Israel.

Mazel Tov! Enjoy driving in Israel (sounds scary to me - of course, I won't drive in NY)

John - Thanks :)

Prag - 1000 NIS may be cheap compared to how much it cost you but here the cost of it all has apparently increased considerable in the last few years.

PP - Thanks but if you're happy now wait until you see next week's One Hit Wonder! A special one which I am pretty sure you will love :)

IFWI - Why not? After the test, Dude wouldn't drive me back so I had to get a cab which I wouldn't have had to take if I didn't have the test.

Shoshana - Thanks :) You get the hang of things here after a while.

Kishmech - Oh vey! Sounds more like the cost of Jewish education.

Sarah - Thanks :) At least I don't have tram lines and trams to contend with.

Wisey - Thanks. Will do.

Esther - Thanks. How was the rest of your trip? That's the next objective.

Israluv - Thanks. You're right about the timing ;)

Mazal Tov! I was wondering how things turned out after that last post. That's great news!

When you do get a car, it'll be nice to have one more normal, careful driver on the roads!

Normal?!
RR you aren't serious??!!

We all thought that was the end of the driving 'methods', great reverse parks along with their relevant stats and goodbye to conversations in general about people and their driving habits.
One of the most boring types of conversation there is. Especially when you have to endure it for a full 45 minutes.

Gosh-darn-it.

There shall be no r&r for you!
